The Mission

I can't promise preschool perfection, but I can guarantee an honest desire to walk with God through the process!

Happy "Ch" - anksgiving!! (I'm a nerd...I know!)

I went ahead and finished the lesson plans for Week 14: ch that we'll use after we come back from our Thanksgiving week off. I assumed since I was hosting the family for Thanksgiving this year, I wouldn't have any time next week to get it done. I couldn't help including a day about Christ and Christmas even though they don't follow the phoneme pattern for "ch". Hopefully it won't screw us up too much! :) Have a happy and safe holiday week!

Words to Live By

I just read this in a parenting "self-help" book that I HIGHLY recommend (How to Disciple Your Children by Walter A. Henrichsen)...
"It is not how much you know that delights the heart of God. Rather it is what you do with what you know."

I think I'm gonna change my mission statement because this sums it up perfectly! My goal is to impart a worldview that guides my kids in the appropriate application of what they know.

Derailed By Strep (Week 12: K)

One thing I didn't take into consideration while planning to do preschool at home was just how often preschoolers get sick! If an epidemic of strep breaks out in your house, the student population of 1 shrinks down to none and the entire preschool shuts down for the week. Throw in a double ear infection and next week's lesson plans become meager at best. Thus, to quote a line used quite often in Week 12's lessons...you're on your own! You can download my meager offerings here and by clicking the link at the bottom of this blog.

* For those of you fortunate enough to be a month or so behind us, this may or may not apply to you as I intend to find some spare time to go back and fill in all gaps.

It just gets sadder each week!

My attempt at jelly beans!

Week 11: Letter J

Click here for all the Joyous fun! You'll notice that I've eliminated the time recommendations from the weekly overview, because let's face it...it NEVER takes that long to get through these activities! I've made peace with the fact that doing an activity one-on-one is OBVIOUSLY going to go faster than doing it in a classroom. The way I see it...he's learning twice the content in half the time! :)
